My Little One loves music, but can't sit still!
Throughout my teaching career, I've found one thing to be true: young children LOVE music. It runs through our veins from the time we're born, just like one of my students who began showing intense interest for piano at the age of 2.
Most everyone knows about the science behind the numerous benefits of a musical education, especially within the first 6 years. Singing and dancing classes provide benefits to introducing students to music, but real-life music reading and instrument skills lack in these classes. So more parents today are looking to start their tiny students in private lessons, sometimes as young as age 3, to jumpstart their formal musical understanding and skills.
But here's the thing...private lessons aren't designed for the 4-6 year old mind and body.
What most music lessons do is give a child one instrument and make them play it for a long time every day. Most little students I previously taught private lessons to barely sat still at the piano for 10 seconds at a time...they're just not developmentally ready for the demands of sitting, reading music, and playing an instrument all at the same time. They're expected to just "get it" from the start, and it's too much for a young, growing brain!
Luckily, we don't do that here.

The KinderKeys Piano Program
KinderKeys is specifically designed to teach eager, wiggly students ages 4-6 the piano in a student-centered, exploratory environment. We blend traditional and non-traditional education methods to make learning real music skills tangible and memorable for every student each week. Playground bridges the gap between your neighborhood singing and dancing class for toddlers and formal piano lessons for elementary-adult ages.
In Kinderkeys, students:
-Learn and master beginner piano songs and skills just like big kids do, but with an engaging, developmentally-appropriate approach
-Experience the variety they crave from the songs they learn on the piano, to Montessori-inspired works, to hands-on projects and crafts that all focus on various genres, musical instruments, music theory and songwriting, and world music cultures
-Gain new friendships and practice team building through collaborative projects and music making together
-Grow in their confidence, independence, and courage as they try and master new songs and skills by themselves
-Build secondary skills necessary for music lessons success, such as reading from left to right, counting evenly and in order, and listening and doing things carefully
